Cindy Angell Keeling grew up on a college campus in Arkansas—fertile ground for honing the powers of observation that would later serve her as a writer. Songwriting was her primary creative outlet for many years, and she performed as a singer-songwriter, a children’s musician, and recorded two children’s albums before turning to writing fiction.

Over the course of writing DREAM CITY DREAMING, Cindy became “an accidental expert” on the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. She is developing a presentation series using photographs, maps, and other vintage resources to inform and delight the viewer about this important world’s fair.

Based in Chicago, Cindy has a world of history at her fingertips. When she’s not writing or researching, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and playing clawhammer banjo for her family and a small flock of backyard chickens.

DREAM CITY DREAMING is her debut novel.
